The Irish deities, the Tuatha Dé Danann, kept their treasures in the corrbolg, or ‘cranebag’, crafted by the sea god Manannán Mac Lir out of the craneskin of his beloved anamchara, soul friend, Aoife. When the tide was high, the corrbolg brimmed with its mystical contents. At low tide, it would empty.
