The word Céilí means a friendly visit, a social gathering, or a dance in Irish Gaelic. It represents a coming together in celebration of friendship, community and life.
Here, you will enter a moonlit realm where ancient tales come alive and wisdom flows through your body.
In this myth and movement class, you will be transported to the heart of the Celtic mythic imagination as a portal for inner-work.
MYTH & MOVEMENT
‘The wings of your soul hummed with such sweet music
That people recognised your essence Étaín
Even amidst the terrible pain of your metamorphosis
A delicate sprinkling of drops from your wings
Offered a healing remedy to others
And the fragrance of your aura
Warded off hunger and thirst to those in your company.’
In this 90-minute immersion, you will experience:
Mythic Storytelling: Meet Étaín, a shapeshifting fairy woman and Sovereignty Goddess, and experience her story through Tochmarc Étaíne, ‘The Wooing of Étaín’, one of Ireland’s oldest known myths.
Embodied Wisdom: Let the story’s symbols flow through you in a guided movement practice to sense into what Étaín’s wisdom can offer your life at this time.
What You will Need:
A candle
A journal and pen
Comforts like a warm brew or a blanket, whatever you need to enter the realm of story
A quiet, safe space where you feel comfortable to move with your eyes closed
A yoga mat, rug or blanket to support your knees as you move, along with comfy clothes that allow a full range of movement
An eye mask (optional) for those who prefer to move with covered eyes
Good sound equipment to hear the narration and music clearly
90-minutes of dedicated time to tend to your inner-landscape
Where is the class hosted?
The céilí will be hosted online via Zoom. You will receive a registration link by email upon booking. Please ensure you check your time zone in advance, as all times are given in Irish Standard Time.
Will this be recorded if I can’t make it live?
Absolutely. I encourage you to attend live where possible to simmer in our collective resonance. If you cannot make it live, please don’t fret, a recording will be sent to you within 24 hours after the event.
